📜 I spend most of my waking hours engineering software, running, writing and thinking about self-improvement. I’m currently based in Washington 🇺🇸 though I grew up in 🇹🇿 and studied in 🇿🇦 where I graduated with Electrical and Computer Engineering degree from the University of CapeTown. 👩💻 I’m currently working on Google Cloud. In the past I’ve worked on both Backend and Frontend projects including your favorite Word processor, Microsoft Word, more about that on my resume. My interests vary from Distributed Systems, Machine Learning, Quantum Computing to Low-level programming. I write about tidbits I find interesting on dev.to.
✍️ I’ve been writing for money and fun for a while. It started with Math, Physics and more Revision books I worked on when I completed high school. I carried on the practice on Amazife and Technofunology blogs. These days I pour my thoughts on life and productivity on this blog (subscribe here) and write about technical topics on dev.to.
🏃♀️ At any point in time I’m either recovering from or training for an ultra marathon. I’m lucky to live in a state with enough mountains and races to fill the calendar. I justified this madness here. If you have a similar or higher level of madness, lets connect on Strava.
🎹 I find playing music to be equally if not more relaxing than listening to it. I’m an intermediate piano player, I post some embarrasing clips on SoundCloud.
🎨 If we’ve met IRL, you most likely noticed my earrings. It once crossed my mind to make them myself and my collection has been sustainably growing since then. You can find my collection here or on Instagram and if you ask nicely I may send you a pair 😃.
